1984年清华大学电机系本科毕业,1990年在清华大学电机系获博士学位。曾任清华大学电机系柔性输配电系统研究所所长、电力系统研究所所长、清华大学电气工程学位分委员会主席、清华大学电机系系主任,现任清华大学低碳能源实验室副主任、电力系统及发电设备安全控制和仿真国家重点实验室副主任。
