上海对外经贸大学研究生专业介绍：英语语言文学

　　英语语言文学硕士:
　　本专业主要培养具有扎实的文学理论和文学知识的研究型人才，培养的学生应具有扎实的英语基本功、独立的科研能力，具备跨文化沟通能力，能够从事英语教学、科研、商务翻译等工作或在学术上进一步深造。本专业学制为两年半,在规定时期完成课程学习，但未完成学位论文者，可申请延长学习年限，累计延长学习年限一般不超过一年。本专业研究方向包括英国文学、美国文学、澳大利亚文学、爱尔兰文学和文学理论。本专业课程采取讲授、讨论和专题研究的方式进行，对硕士研究生的培养实行导师负责制。
　　English Language and Literature M.A. Program The program aims to qualify students as first-class English talents and professionals needed for China’s economic and social development in the context of globalization. Students are expected, upon accomplishing the program, to have high English proficiency, great skills in both written and oral expression, a proper mastery of western literary and cultural theories, and solid and up-to-date professional knowledge. They will be able to take up research, teaching, translating, international business and other tasks related to English culture and communications. The length of study is two years and a half. Students who have successfully completed the coursework within the required time can apply for an extension of one year maximum. Field of research contains Australian Literature, English Literature, American Literature, Irish Literature, Translation Studies. The program adopts a variety of education modes including lectures, seminars and themed research tasks.
