　　简历：
　　周红章，男，1960年出生，河北省武安市人，博士，中国科学院动物研究所研究员，中国科学院研究生院教授，博士生导师；中国科学院动物进化与系统学重点实验室副主任，甲虫多样性与分子进化研究组组长。
　　1981年获上海复旦大学理学学士，1984年获中国科学院理学硕士学位，1992年获德国Koln大学理学博士学位，现任中国科学院动物进化与系统学重点实验室副主任，甲虫多样性与分子进化研究组组长，曾先后担任动物研究所昆虫分类室副主任、动物进化与系统学研究中心常务副主任、动物标本馆常务副馆长、青年实验室副主任等职。主要从事昆虫系统学、进化生物学和甲虫多样性研究，率先开拓了我国法医昆虫学研究。主持或承担完成科技部“973”项目课题等重大科研项目，在 Entomolgia Experimentalis et ApplicataEnvironmental Entomology，Invertebrate Systematics，Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution，Molecular Biology and Evolution 等国际一流杂志上发表多篇论文，现已发表论文100余篇，参与编写专著10余部。所发表的论著曾被评为德国科隆大学优秀论文、中国科协第二届青年学术年会优秀论文和中国昆虫学会第三届全国青年昆虫学工作者优秀论文一等奖，曾获得德国国家科技部基金、德国北莱茵州政府研究生奖学金和中国科学院留学基金。与国际上诸多著名博物馆馆（如美国芝加哥Field博物馆、大英博物馆、日本东京科学博物馆，大板自然博物馆、德国多家博物馆等）建立了长期合作关系，有的已经建立了长期的实质性合作，开展双边或多边合作研究项目、联合培养学生以及合作发表论文等。同时，也邀请接待了美国、日本、英国、波兰、俄罗斯、加拿大等国际同行的来访与合作交流。2010年被评为“全国科普先进工作者”、“北京市科普先进工作者”，受到国家科技部、中宣部、中国科协等部门的联合表彰。

　　研究领域：
　　近年几年来，本研究组以若干重要甲虫类群（如隐翅虫总科、阎甲总科、肖叶甲科、虎甲科、芫菁科、大步甲亚科等）为对象，从最基础的分类学入手，通过系统的物种编目清查，发现并描述70余新种或其它新的分类单元，总结物种多样性的现状，分析物种多样性的时空变化格局；从支序系统学、功能形态适应分析、分子进化分析、动物地理学等角度，结合自然生态适应与野外区系分布调查，探索甲虫物种多样性的成因及进化规律。同时，经过上述基础研究长期积累，开拓了法医昆虫学、昆虫资源保护与利用等方面的应用研究。

　　社会任职：
　　现任《国际动物命名法规》委员会和国际“ZooBank”委员会委员、《中国动物志》、《动物分类学报》、《Insect Science》、《植物生态学报》等编委。曾担任国际科学与工程大奖赛（ISEF）第56届大奖评委和第54届Intel专项奖评委，全国第十届大学生“挑战杯”竞赛评委，也曾多次参加全国青少年科技创新大赛和全国“明天小小科学家”评选等多项科普活动。北京市科协七大代表及常务委员会青少年科技工作委员成员。
